Controlling wood deterioration with fumigants: A review
Forest Products Journal, Vol.36(10), pp.26-34
1986
Abstract
Remedial treatment with fumigants is used to arrest and prevent decay in poles, piling, and timbers, and has resulted in substantial savings to users. Increasing fumigant use has stimulated accelerated research on the properties of fumigants currently in use, which in turn has expanded to include the identification of safer formulations and new fumigants. This paper reviews and discusses these developments in relation to current usage and identifies specific areas of need for future research.
