A journey of enacting new literacies in an early childhood education classroom

Abstract
This article presents the beginning of the authors' journey to incorporate technology into her early childhood classroom in ways that she can manage. It outlines things to consider such as, iPromises to get the children to work together cooperatively and collaboratively, the use of Internet QR codes to address safety issues, and daily modelling using whiteboards to demonstrate the structure, functions and pitfalls of websites. It also discusses the importance of teaching critical literacy and gives examples of how this has been taught in the authors classroom.
