A comparison of existing map products and Landsat for land cover mapping
Cartography, Vol.16(1), pp.51-57
1987
Abstract
Standard map products providing land cover data are inadequate for resource management purposes due to lack of currency and/or detail. For medium to small scale mapping tasks digital processing of Landsat MSS imagery overcomes these problems. The satellite based approach may be used to update existing maps to take advantage of both sources of information.
