Abstract
This thesis offers a critical social perspective on innovation in mental health service provision in Australia. It presents and interrogates the findings of a local evaluation of the Sunshine Coast and Gympie Partners in Recovery (PIR)1 mental health service in order to explore the benefits, limitations, and possible future prospects for community-based and recovery-oriented, mental health service provision.
