Woodford Folk Festival (Woodford, Australia, Dec-2018)

Abstract
Artificial intelligence, robotics and automation are sources of some of the biggest ethical questions currently facing humanity. "Who controls the AI? Does it have bias? Who's goals does it assist? What should we automate? Will Robots/AI take all our jobs?" Are just a few of the big questions dealt with in this public research exposition. This panel presentation/broadcast/podcast presented leading research questions, projects and outcomes to a lay audience. The contribution of this presentation is wide spread deeper understanding of the current state of the art of human-robot and human-automation interaction. The panel covered topics including current research on function/task allocation for AI and automation from Dr Mealy, how robotics and automation is being used in Design industrial practice by Dr Caldwell, and various outputs including Indigenous Language Robots and Robotics for primary education by Professor Wiles.
