Abstract
Set in the 19th century; fourteen-year-old Sam Silverthorne runs away from his home in London and his cruel Aunt Bertha and embarks on a quest to find his father. Arthur Silverthorne has failed to return from his most recent ornithological expedition in search of the fabled silver Bird of Paradise which lives in the steamy jungles of the Malay Archipelago. Like a young Indiana Jones, Sam Silverthorne has to discover the best and the worst that the world has to offer in a fabulous adventure.
