Abstract
Picky eating is a common childhood phenomenon in younger children, impacting occupations surrounding mealtimes for many families. Childhood picky eating occurs when there is limited intake or variety of food and/or unwillingness to try new foods. Theories of picky eating exist, with some considering it part of normal childhood development. An accurate prevalence is difficult to determine due to differing definitions and overlapping diagnoses. Numerous health professionals are reported to be involved in the care of picky eaters and their families. Limited research investigates picky eating in Australia or through an occupational therapy lens.
