Abstract
The Portuguese oyster (Crassostrea angulata) is one of the most economically important mollusc species in Vietnam with a production of 50 000 tonnes in 2018. However, sustainable development of the Portuguese oyster culture industry requires the establishment of a selective program for this species. This is essential to improving spat quality to satisfy the increasing demand from aquaculture farmers and business enterprises. Therefore, in my PhD thesis, I have combined quantitative and molecular tools in a genetic program for this species aimed at improving spat quality.
