This dataset supports analyses presented in the manuscript "Optimising camera trap surveys for the rocky landform specialists of the Mount Isa Inlier". These data were collected from nine repeated sampling periods (10,966 camera nights) at 60 independent camera trap stations deployed over an area of 11,523 sqkm in northwest Queensland. These data were used to calculate detection probability estimates, temporal differences in days to first detection and detection rate, 24 h diel activity patterns and the effect of lunar illumination on activity levels of 11 rocky landform specialist fauna species.
