Abstract
The theme for the University Research Conference this year is Bridging Disciplinary Divides: Connect, Communicate, Collaborate. This theme has been chosen to emphasise the importance of interdisciplinary research. At the same time, it points to the imperative to conduct research around the big questions as they present in the real world, and to address these big questions in collaboration with other universities and end users. The Research Conference program refl ects this theme in presenting addresses and papers that exemplify aspects of interdisciplinary collaboration.
