Abstract
In contemporary higher education, academia's role extends beyond traditional classroom instruction to engage students and industry partners, fostering a holistic learning environment. This presentation underscores the importance of leveraging untapped resources to enhance student success and workforce readiness. Alumni and industry partners play a pivotal role from orientation to graduation, providing real-world insights and bridging academic theory with practical application. Programs like UniSC's Work Experience Scheme (WES) and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) offer hands-on experience and often lead to employment opportunities. Drawing from over a decade of teaching experience in accounting, I have seen the benefits of such collaborations. Events like networking evenings, which connect alumni, students, and employers, enhance industry relationships and job placements. This presentation advocates for a strategy integrating alumni and industry engagement throughout the student lifecycle to inspire students, enrich their learning, and achieve academic and professional success.
