Abstract
What is virtual microscopy? A virtual slide is created when glass slides are digitally scanned to provide a high resolution digital image. Digital slides can be retrieved from a storage system, and viewed on a computer screen, by running image management software on a standard web browser and assessed in exactly the same way as on a microscope. Virtual microscopy has been introduced as a teaching tool to the cellular morphology courses MLS110 Haematology and MLS121 Histology for the last 2 years at USC and this presentation will give an interactive hands on overview of the tool and possibility of dissemination into other cellular/anatomical courses.
