Abstract
This workshop will address the features of effective supervision of higher degrees by research. It will develop the knowledge and skills of supervisors and degree candidates in developing supervision plans that extend from enrolment preparation to post-graduation outcomes. There will be a particular focus on the fi rst year of candidature and activities that can support candidature at this critical stage, specifi cally focusing on supporting Higher Degree by Research student writing from the earliest stages of candidature.
