Abstract

Corporate social responsibility Agro-ecosystem function and prediction Disaster and emergency management

Despite research establishing the value of alternative food networks (AFNs) to sustainable food supply chains, the role of knowledge management (KM) for innovative outcomes facilitated by key network actors within food and agribusiness sectors in Australia is yet to be explored. Utilising Innes’ Individual Foresight framework this qualitative study seeks to determine the role of key network actors in contributing to KM, creation, and sharing in the establishment of a Values-based Territorial Food Network (VTFN). We conduct 20 one-hour interviews with stakeholders across the food and agribusiness sector investigating individual-level and business-level KM practices. Preliminary data suggests collaborative learning mechanisms, informal and formal networks, intuitive decision-making and processes of reflection are important contributors to KM and innovative outcomes for VTFNs.
