Australian Forest Operations Research Alliance (AFORA) Web Workshop Series (Online, May-2013)
2013
Abstract
The application of onboard systems for improved operation tracking and management has been researched by the AFORA research team in a number of different operating conditions. In addition to identifying significant opportunities for operational improvement with the use of different onboard systems the team has also learned about the significant hurdles to effective implementation and how best negotiate them to realise the best operational result. Two guides on how to implement onboard systems have been produced for the Australian industry. The workshop will highlight the results and impacts achieved with onbaord system trials and will discuss the key factors for the successful application of onbaord system.
