Abstract
Disrupted attachment style is often correlated with family violence and intimate partner stalking, though the causal link has hitherto been undetermined. This talk will examine attachment style in intimate partner stalking from a neurobiological perspective. It will look at social connectedness as an evolutionary and biological imperative with neurobiological implications that can be reliably measured via heart rate variability (HRV). This talk will demonstrate a pathophysiology to intimate partner stalking that future research can replicate. Limitations and recommendations for further research and clinically relevant interventions will be discussed.
