Abstract
In this workshop author and academic Gary Crew will offer practical strategies for both initiating and structuring creative narrative in the class room. Using the methodology of creative response to the opening lines of classic narrative texts (from Charlotte Bronte to Stephen King), Crew will demonstrate strategies by which students might better comprehend how to begin their own original narratives and the techniques required to maintain the structure of such narrative in order to complete a sustained and fulfillingcreative artefact.
