Embedding Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing commonly elicits feelings of fear and inadequacy among educators. Yet the imperative to prepare health students to be culturally responsive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, is pressing. We will explore the ways grassroots leadership has grown among Indigenous and non-Indigenous academics to support and equip one another, and to lead change. This session will feature story-sharing, showcasing applied approaches and describe key outcomes. Attendees will engage in an interactive collective reflection, exploring how these experiences can be applied to similar areas of higher education, to foster empowerment through grassroots leadership.
