Executive function challenges can significantly affect learning, particularly for neurodivergent students. This presentation examines how research on executive function can be translated into inclusive classroom strategies that address planning, organisation, attention and emotional regulation. Drawing on practice-based insights from The Sycamore School, a specialist setting for autistic learners, the presentation illustrates how executive functioning manifests in classroom contexts and outlines practical supports that benefit all students. Evidence-informed tools, case examples and reflections are shared to demonstrate how applying a cognitive science lens can enhance engagement and independence for diverse learners.
