Abstract
Background: In the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence, it is essential for both students and educators to develop robust literacy in AI applications. The integration of AI into educational settings is transforming how we teach, learn, and assess academic work. As AI tools become increasingly prevalent, there is a pressing need to prepare our academic community to navigate these technologies effectively.
Initiative: Our presentation will discuss the design and implementation of learning strategies that enable students to utilise AI ethically for enhanced learning experiences. Additionally, we will outline strategies for academics to assess AI-supported assignments with integrity and fairness. Our approach emphasises training and the development of critical thinking skills in the context of AI applications.
Outcomes: Though still in progress, our initiative highlights the urgent need for a streamlined approach to prepare students and educators for the future by building their AI literacy.
