Abstract
So many responsibilities, yet so little time - teaching in today's current technological landscape presents many challenges, one of which is being the first responder to students who encounter a technical issue related to their course. Sure, there's plenty of support out there when you need it, but what about managing expectations from both your students and your teaching team in a world driven by deadlines? In this short interactive session staff from the ET Support team, who support Academic and Professional staff across eight schools and the Preparatory and Enabling Unit, will pass on everyday tips and techniques they use when troubleshooting issues that teaching staff can potentially apply to many aspects of their teaching and coursework. By the end of the session the team will have shared some simple yet invaluable processes that are designed to take some of the fears and stress away from the technological aspects of teaching. You'll also observe some fun demonstrations of the process of elimination, its many technical and non-technical applications, and the concept of self-help for students. You'll be presented with interesting concepts and analogies, and if you're feeling brave you'll even get the opportunity to take on a brief challenge during the session!
