2013
Abstract
Around the world the use of residue wood material for renewable energy is increasing; in Australia opportunities are starting to emerge. In all cases where wood is used for energy the critical issue for financial viability is the implementation of efficient and effective supply chains. AFORA has done a number of research trials looking at efficient approaches to the harvest and transport of plantation residues in Australian operations. In this workshop the different approaches tested will be discussed including the strengths and weaknesses of each in the Australian context with a particular focus on the advantages identified for effective integration with current forest operations.
