Cultural Safety curriculum development and design Indigenous Peoples
Based on research conducted by Ali Moloney and Mandandanji scholar Dr Lynne Stuart of USC this presentation will address how Cultural Safety and clinical safety must be understood as interdependent and equally essential components of quality healthcare, especially for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in Australia. Although there is strong evidence linking Cultural Safety to better health outcomes, its consistent implementation in practice remains limited. The presentation will emphasise that Cultural Safety and clinical safety are symbiotic with delivering clinically safe care, and this requires a change in the way education is provided and delivered, offering practical suggestions to achieve this.
