Rural Training - Youth Support Conference : Authentic Counselling Practices: Challenging Current Thinking, Creating New Knowledge, 2010 (Hervey Bay, Australia, 12-Apr-2010–14-Apr-2010)

Abstract
The goal of Gestalt therapy is to raise the client's awareness, through the use of experiential techniques, in the here-and-now. The use of creative strategies in Gestalt Therapy is an activity of contact that can bring dormant insights into awareness and offers a way in which this awareness can be shared with others. This workshop will focus on the use of creative Gestalt therapy strategies and artistic metaphor to expand the young person's exploration of their inner self to include not only the intrapersonal dimensions of themselves but also, interpersonal and environmental relationships.
