Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has grown in use significantly since the introduction of ChatGPT a few years ago. Nurse Practitioners and other healthcare practitioners have started to use various forms of AI in different healthcare settings.
This presentation will cover the evolution of AI and how it appears to come from nowhere to take over the world. It will explore what the different types of AI; what are the risks and benefits of using AI are, how to integrate safely and effectively into practice, and finally, how NPs can integrate various genAI tools into their practice.
AI needs to be ethically used to ensure it benefits patients, without compromising patient confidentiality or losing the importance of professional interaction during the practitioner-patient interview.
