Abstract
Developing Digital Ethics Guidelines
Our international, multi-university research investigated how to assist educators to guide students’ ethical decision making, in ePortfolio practice with vulnerable groups. Work integrated learning, supported by ePortfolios, is central to health care and education degree courses and involves multiple, potentially vulnerable groups (e.g. students, clients, families and carers). A mixed methods design was employed to survey educators and student participants. Preliminary results reveal that students tended not to perceive any unintended consequences from ePortfolio use. Educators report concerns of privacy and confidentiality of those in vulnerable groups. Guidelines are being drafted from the findings of this study.
