Abstract

Education Systems Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) work based learning
This paper examines the development of the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) team as a student group based on applying work based learning through practical application of knowledge and skills learnt in the classroom, and applied to real working situations for community service projects. The purpose of the paper is to provide some insight into group projects conducted under the SIFE scheme and, by doing so, improve the quality of student learning in problem solving projects. A brief literature review is provided, identifying the theoretical background to the practical development and implementation of the SIFE related projects. Finally, the practical and theoretical implications of these projects are discussed.
