Abstract
The opportunities for using constructed floating wetlands (CFW) to improve water quality in a variety stormwater and wastewater treatment applications are currently receiving much attention in the research literature. The increasing number of studies on the performance of CFW are providing valuable knowledge on the effectiveness of these systems. One area that is not yet well understood is the range and extent of the benefits that these systems can provide compared to using more traditional stormwater treatment options. This abstract provides an analysis of the initial cost-savings realised by using CFW in place of a traditional constructed wetland (CW) treatment system.
