This paper provides an indicative and systematic review of various aspects of perceived risk and trust in travellers’ adoption of Information & Communication Technologies based. Synthesising a large body of academic literature both within and beyond the eTourism field, these findings provides eTourism academia with a summarised, and indicative understanding of our contemporary academic knowledge of the role of risk and trust in travellers’ acceptance of new technologies. From an empirical perspective, this research helps technology developers to identify the most important determinants of users’ trust in ICTs and appreciate various mechanisms to affect consumers’ perceptions of risk and trust in the adoption of new ICT developments.
