Abstract
The load distribution, in particular concentrated loading, represents an important aspect of multiple joist floor systems. The magnitude of load captured by each joist needs to be accurately assessed in order to achieve an efficient, competitive and economical design. As part of a large-scale investigation on stress-skin panel (SSP) systems (Gerber 2007), the distribution of point load actions in SSP structures was investigated. This research enabled to increase the understanding of the structural responses of SSP constructions to loading and to develop successful numerical models of these behaviours. Approaches of the load distribution assessment are presented in this paper, that is, an analytical method and two formulae of the load distribution are presented. Furthermore, test results are also discussed.
