Abstract

Physiology gonadotropin pituitory
PACAP and NPY act directly on the pituitary to stimulate gonadotropin subunit genes transcription and hormone release. These effects are exerted differentially on each subunit, mediated by different signal transduction pathways (cAMP-PKA and/or PKC). Furthermore, these peptides also interact with GnRH to augment the transcription of gonadotropin subunit genes.
