Abstract

In this era of credentialism and vocationalism, participation in higher education is universally acknowledged as a near-essential route in our professional development. Its ability to redress social injustices is well-versed in literature, capable of assuaging inequalities, enabling social inclusion and improving quality-of-life (Perna, 2005; Cupitt et al., 2015).
