This chapter tells the story of key mathematical experiences that led me to appreciate mathematical modelling as a personal pleasure and a springboard for my work as a mathematics teacher, teacher educator, and mathematics education researcher. Tracing my modelling chronology through these phases of my life leads me to reflect on how mathematical experiences led to educational research questions about teacher learning and curriculum design.
