Abstract
Evolution via sexual selection has driven the evolution of remarkably diverse ornaments. Sexually attractive traits can be visual, olfactory, tactile, and auditory. This contribution discusses sexual attractiveness in visually conspicuous and sexually dimorphic traits, drawing on examples from nonhuman primates in order to understanding how sexual selection has shaped attractive traits in humans.
