Abstract
Twenty-eight essays by social scientists, business consultants, philosophers. and scholars of education, management, and future studies provide an overview and history of the discipline, outlining its practices and applications, and identifying emerging areas of concern. Specific chapters relate the future (and its study) to pedagogy, culture, social change, evolvability, globalization, sociology, postmodernism, economics, and unions.
