Abstract
When was the last time you tried to improve something about yourself? Did you make a New Year’s Resolution? Was it to upskill? To exercise? To spend more time with loved ones? Whatever it was, the desire to improve ourselves is something we can all relate to. We are convinced that by changing ourselves, we become more desirable, successful, and fulfilled (Polivy & Herman 1999).
