Abstract
Removal of forest trees for building and fuel is threatening forests across Africa, and this book is designed to help. The book includes a summary of the importance of forests, with a number of tips to help African villagers live sustainably, and hence help to conserve these threatened habitats. The book is the first in a series produced to support the work of the Udzungwa Forest Project. Each volume will have a regional focus; this one relates to the Kilombero-Udzungwa area of southern Tanzania, and includes a guide to the trees and animals of the region.
