Abstract
The Goodenia genus is mostly found in the Southern hemisphere with 370 species found in Australia. Goodenia rotundifolia is distributed throughout coastal and tableland regions of Queensland and New South Wales. Growing in sclerophyll woodland and forest, in well drained soils with light shade (PlantNET, 2023). The species name rotundifolia means circular leaved (Sharr & George, 1978). G. rotundifolia is a perennial herb, growing erect or prostate, typically up to 50cm in height. Flowers form in racemes of up to 30cm. The species can be quite varied in its characteristics being hirsute or glabrous and growing either erect, prostrate or stoloniferous (Alexander, 1992). Flowering occurs throughout the year, excluding the winter months. (Falster, Gallagher et al, 2021).
