Abstract
This slender native shrub is generally erect in form and grows to 40-150cm high (ANPSA, 2023; PlantNET, 2023). It is naturally distributed along the east coast of NSW and the southeast coast of Queensland (ANPSA, 2023). The oval leaves taper to a thin point and are approximately 5mm long and 4mm wide (ANPSA, 2023). Its tubular flowers are white to pink and display on mass from the leaf axils down the branches (ANPSA, 2023; PlantNET, 2023). Flowering occurs throughout the year attracting honey eaters with its nectar (ANPSA, 2023). The root system of Epacris pulchella is very fine and can easily be damaged when disturbed (ANPSA, 2023).The species name pulchella comes from Latin pulchellus meaning pretty or beautiful (ANPSA, 2023).
