Abstract
This qualitative research project aimed to explore the experiences of breastfeeding and mothering amongst women who had experienced assisted conception (AC). A qualitative approach was taken, using guided interviews. Women were interviewed in the antenatal period about their experiences of AC and their expectations of breastfeeding and mothering. Follow up interviews were conducted in the postnatal period to explore actual experiences of breastfeeding and their experience of motherhood. Data were analysed using thematic analyis.
