Abstract

Other Education PIVOTAL leadership model
This OLT-funded cross-disciplinary learning and teaching research project aims to be the catalyst for innovation within the postgraduate learning experiences of school leaders. The effective application of leadership theory, improvement in leadership performance within complex learning communities and capacity to respond to changing situations are important anticipated outcomes. The findings will make a unique contribution to the design of innovative leadership programs, through an initial investigation of the needs of school leaders undertaking postgraduate study across the disciplines of Education and Business in two particular regional settings-that of the University of the Sunshine Coast and that of the University of Southern Queensland. Led by USC School of Education's Dr Sue Simon, the research team comprises Associate Professor Michael Christie (USC's School of Education), Dr Wayne Graham (USC's School of Business), Associate Professor Karen Noble (USQ's Faculty of Business, Education, Law and Arts) and Associate Professor Jane Summers (USQ's Faculty of Business, Education, Law and Arts).
