Abstract

Business and Management retention social capital healthcare
The global aging of the population and associated predicted labor shortage in many countries has prompted research into factors that affect retirement and work choices. This paper provides a broad review of the relevant literature which in turn is used to identify the gaps in the literature. This research aims to determine whether workplace relationships can improve retention of older workers generally and specifically mature-aged nurses in hospital settings. As well as identifying gaps in literature, this paper will review relevant theoretical frames that may be useful for addressing the gaps in a meaningful way to improve the research- practice nexus
