Abstract
The Sunshine Coast is a region that is rapidly growing and has an interesting combination of rural and coastal demographic issues impacting upon health and wellbeing. Our team is working together to provide an educational experience for students that is regionally, as well as globally, relevant so that graduates are work-ready, committed to the profession and prepared to be positive role models and leaders for the rapidly growing health services on the Sunshine Coast. Underpinning all of our programs are two fundamental philosophies - narrative pedagogy and strengths based nursing practice. This presentation will elucidate how these philosophies are enacted and outcomes evaluated in a number of innovative projects: everyday learning and teaching strategies, regional engagement activities, and research endeavours.
