Abstract
Time series studies have shown that there is heterogeneity in the association between particles and mortality and hospital admissions across 4 Australian cities even though the air pollution levels are similar in all cities. This study has examined the composition of particles, both PM2.5 and PM2.5-10 at 2 sites in each city over a 12-month period. Information has been obtained on elemental composition, nitrates and sulfates, PAHs and VOCs (as precursors to secondary particle formation).
