Writing to be Read: Publishing the Results of Health Promotion Activities

Abstract
Issue addressed: Indigenous and non-Indigenous health promoters have shown an interest in being provided with guidance on how to write for publication. This article addresses the questions most asked by authors, and provides tips authors have found most useful. Methods: The development of writing skills is outlined and information provided to assist an author's progress through the publication process is provided. Writing requirements are presented with recommendations on how to achieve the desired writing outcomes. So what? The process of writing for publication can be rewarding. Just as for a multitude of other tasks within our work environment, writing for publication can be assisted by developing a set of skills and knowledge.
