Secondary transfers including inter-hospital transport cases were excluded. RESULTS:: A total of 4348 cases met inclusion criteria. Median age was 74years (interquartile range 64-83). The most common paramedic assessments were 'respiratory' (20.1%), 'pain' (15.8%) and 'deceased' (7.9%); 74.4% ( n=3237) were transported, with the most common destination being a hospital (99.5%, n=3221). Of those with pain as the primary impression, 359 (53.9%) received an analgesic, morphine, fentanyl or methoxyflurane, and 356 (99.2%) were transported following analgesic administration. Resuscitation was attempted in 98 (29.1%) of the 337 cases coded as cardiac arrest. Among non-transported cases, there were 105 (9.6%) cases where paramedics re-attended the patient within 24h of the previous attendance. CONCLUSION:: Paramedics have a significant role in caring for patients receiving palliative care. These results should inform the design of integrated systems of care that involve ambulance services in the planning and delivery of community-based palliative care.]]> Mon 01 Apr 2019 15:40:14 AEST ]]> A new sporting horizon: a content analysis of Super Netball newspaper coverage http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:26957 Fri 29 May 2020 17:57:00 AEST ]]> Trans-mediatized terrorism: The Sydney Lindt Café siege http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:25496 Fri 29 May 2020 17:50:00 AEST ]]> Reality’s children: young people and factual entertainment television http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:23206 Fri 29 May 2020 17:21:44 AEST ]]> Levetiracetam in the management of feline audiogenic reflex seizures: a randomised, controlled, open-label study http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:22757 Fri 29 May 2020 17:14:58 AEST ]]> Children's television in transition: policies, platforms and production http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:22238 Fri 29 May 2020 17:07:39 AEST ]]> Regulating contemporary children’s television: how digitisation is re-shaping compliance norms and production practices http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:21825 Fri 29 May 2020 17:00:39 AEST ]]> Motivations of experienced leisure travellers: A means-end chain study on the Chinese outbound market http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:29788 Fri 25 Oct 2019 09:47:40 AEST ]]> Ecological dynamics of spin bowling in test match cricket: A longitudinal analysis of delivery speed between Australia and India http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:25428 Fri 22 Feb 2019 11:13:48 AEST ]]> Cracking the enigma of asset bubbles with narratives http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:30625 Fri 21 Feb 2020 07:36:37 AEST ]]> Enhancing occupational performance in the virtual context using smart technology http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:17333 Fri 17 Jun 2016 09:56:46 AEST ]]> Losing your head: Are principals attached to their school? http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:26322 Fri 17 Jan 2020 10:16:58 AEST ]]> Ecosystem Services of a Wetland in the Politically Unstable Southernmost Provinces of Thailand http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:29715 Fri 17 Jan 2020 08:17:31 AEST ]]> The roles of capitals in building capacity to address urban flooding in the shift to a new water management approach http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:24040 Fri 14 Jun 2019 13:31:04 AEST ]]> Counselling Children: A Practical Introduction, 5th Edition http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:25345 Fri 09 Aug 2019 14:31:41 AEST ]]> Australian journalist-blogs: A shift in audience relationships or mere window dressing? http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:14292 Fri 06 May 2016 11:54:25 AEST ]]> Tablet devices: Supporting practitioners to conduct informed conversations http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:19929 Fri 05 May 2017 15:46:23 AEST ]]> Confessions to Mr Big: A new rule of evidence? http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:18210 Fri 03 Mar 2017 10:33:28 AEST ]]> The reliability and sensitivity of a Wii Balance Board® to measure balance in people with MS http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:24161 Fri 02 Feb 2018 09:46:39 AEST ]]> Static load bearing exercises of individuals with transfemoral amputation fitted with an osseointegrated implant: Loading compliance http://research.usc.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/usc:19438 Fri 01 Sep 2017 09:44:08 AEST ]]>
