The aim of this study was to determine if the Floating Treatment Wetlands (FTWs) were successful in reducing total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus and total suspended solids (TSS) effluent concentrations to less than 10 mg/L. The FTW was located at Dilli Village, Fraser Island (Australia) and was studied over 9 months during 2016. Floating geo-synthetic mats in 8 separate above ground tanks supported the growth of plants (Lepironia articulata, Isolepsis kraussi and Baumea Juncea). The total area of the system was 60 m2. The FTW system was designed to remove TN and TP from sewage effluent outflow from an existing sewage treatment plant located at Dilli Village, Fraser Island (Australia).
