This exegesis explores and documents the use of Applied Theatre techniques in the development of a narrative script on elder abuse for Community Legal Education. The project has strong links with my employment at the Suncoast Community Legal Service (SCLS) and my personal and professional interest in the use of different media for the delivery of Community Legal Education (CLE) projects. Whilst the primary aim of CLE projects is to increase knowledge of the law and legal processes, in doing so, it also seeks to facilitate people to critically assess laws and take control over their own lives. This framework of empowerment is common to both CLE projects and Applied Theatre projects and creates a solid base for integration in this research.
