Silicon Valley came to the USC classroom in form of the Multi-disciplinary Experiential Entrepreneurship Model (MEEM). MEEM brought an industry innovation in the form of a Startup Weekend to USC as part of a creditbearing project. During one weekend, multi-disciplinary teams, composed of students, developers, designers and business people created start-up ventures, supported by industry mentors. Our presentation reflects on this intensive, authentic, and engaging learning experience. We draw on the ‘Lean Start Up’ principles and reflect on the student and teacher experiences of pitches and pivots and specifically how these experiences intersected for collaborative learning experience.
